Just because you need a little help with daily activities doesn’t have to mean living in an institution –Darlington Assisted Living is the exact opposite. It’s an historic Victorian home where residents live as independently as possible in a safe environment with just a helping hand when needed, whether that means remembering medications or staying safe in the shower.

From the welcoming sitting area and coffee station just inside the front door, to the open and airy great room, to the backyard patio and garden, Darlington is a carefree atmosphere where all your needs are met and the worries of maintaining a home are gone. It’s three homemade meals a day that you didn’t have to cook. It’s housekeeping and laundry service as if you were on vacation. It’s living with your peers and socializing with interesting and frequent activities – you choose how much you want to take part in.

Darlington offers a well-rounded therapeutic environment that responds to all needs: intellectual, physical, spiritual and social. Our sense of balance extends to our resident composition as well. We strive to ensure a harmonious environment through a comprehensive intake process that ensures each new resident or roommate is a good fit.

And because of our size (our capacity is just 38!) each resident becomes a part of our family. With a low resident to staff ratio, personal care and attention from long-term, trained professionals is one of our trademarks.

Another detail you won’t find at other facilities are resident meetings. We hold these every month to solicit feedback and suggestions about menus, activities, places to go – whatever is on our residents’ minds. In addition, our Executive Director & Director of Wellness continually asks for input.
